The Ministry of Finance carries out the following responsibilities:
  1. Suggest the goals and tools of the finance policy with accordance of national development requirements.
  2. Prepare and carry out the state general budget.
  3. Collect the general revenues such as taxes and fees according to the low.
  4. Develop the national financing relationship between State of Qatar and other countries.
  5. Suggest the laws and regulations pertaining to the Ministry.
  6. Oversee finalization of the governments' annual closing accounts record of expenditures.
  7. Control the antecedent prior to expending from budget allocation in all ministries and other governmental entities.
  8. Study and analyze the financial and economical situations and evaluate the taxation policy.
  9. Prepare and develop the financial legislation of the general revenues and expenditures.
  10. Cooperate and coordinate with concerned bodies in preparing the financial and social development plans and follow up its implementation process.
  11. Cooperate and coordinate with the Qatari Central Bank to achieve a level of consistency between the financial and monetary policies in order to serve the national economy.
